The concept of her performance is "to stir the inner thoughts and the sub-consciousness encounter ".
The first deviance: She gradually stepped out of modern dance, which she started on genealogy of Germany Expressionism (Mary Wigman) in her childhood. She studied some kinds of body work (including Alexander Technique and Feldenkrais Method), bio-dynamics theory, and applied kinesiology.
In 1991, she started solo dance performance and workshop exploring body sensation deeply by own way.
The second deviance: She received a doctorate (Ph.D.) by research in medical science : " relationship of arteriosclerosis and immunology", in 1993.
She felt unsatisfactory and serious ambivalences, while interested and absorbed in science "preventive medicine". 1995: Presented performance ”Time-Space” in according with her new concept and idea. Delving the hidden truth about physical sensibility, she incorporates "corporeal thinking" into her performance.
In 1996, she organized a contemporary dance unit Esqui:nouver.
Their goal was found in the inducement of mental pictures, resulting from one's awareness of spatial and physical transfigurations.
In her performances being composed of physical and spatial expressions, Kitao incorporates not only her contemplation on the theme which she brings up to the level of abstraction, but also her confrontation with the truth hidden in the physical perception.
While pursuing the themes of her works deeply and, moreover, essentially, Kitao confronts the truths underlying physical perception and seek to imbue her performances with "corporal thinking" through her physical expression and spatial presentation. (She stoped unit activity as Esqui:nouver in 2002)
2001: Experience wandering performance activity in Europe for 1 year.
Fascinated with the idea that a body is a phenomenon, she expresses physical reactions triggered by feeling as "corporeal matters" in her performances around the world.
2003: Received the outstanding performance award at International Theatre Festival in Moldova.
Now: Focusing on her solo dance activities including collaborative productions with artists from various fields. She is calling her works SHINTAI-GOTO, it means the expression of body incidence, which is starting from corporal knowing and body sensing in sub-consciousness level in usually.
She is shearing her workshop and experimental performance for sending the potentiality of Art in our daily life. KITAO has been actively involved in the solo as well as unit activities and collaboration with artists in a variety of venues.

She opens her workshops in Japan, France, Germany, Turkey, Armenia, Poland, and Guatemala from 2000.
Her workshop's title is “Feel the body & Sense the movement”.
She can also give the another workshop “Bio Dynamics & Body Conditioning”(Dance Physiotherapy).
She worked as the physiotherapist for dancers of Pina Bausch & Buppertal Tanztheater during the tour in Japane and Europe in 2000 and 2001.

“The Asbestos adhereing Gauze”and“murmus of flying Amoeba”were performed at Espace Culturel Bertin Poiree in Paris (France) and Cafe ADA in Wuppertal (Germany), in 2001and 2002. “The Sleep of SOINE-ARBEITER”was presented at the festival in Kiel (Germany), Avignon (France), Yerevan (Armenia), Chisinau (Moldova), Ougadougou (Burkina-Faso), and Tokyo (Japan) in 2003. She was awarded the prize at the international theatre festival 3rd eddition: One man Show in Yerevan (Moldova).
“The Sleep of SOINE-ARBEITER”was also presented at the theater project in Istanbul (Turkey), Paris(France), Gdansk(Poland), and Tokyo (Japan) in 2002-2005.
“Mishima's HANJO”was presented at the theater project in Istanbul (Turkey), Antigua (Guatemala), Gdansk(Poland), Paris(France), and Tokyo(Japan) in 2004-2006.
Collaborations with Haruo HIGUMA who is Video Artist were presented in Tokyo(Japan) many times, and Beijin and Shanhai (China) in gallery, theater and outdoor etc. in 2004-2006.

Some performance tours in Europe were supported by EU-Japan Fest in 2002, 2003, and 2005.

“Chaotic Pregnancy”was presented at the theater project in Gdansk(Poland), Tokyo(Japan), and Mexico-city(Mexico) in 2006-2007.
“ZA・RA・ME”was presented at the theater project in Tokyo(Japan) in 2009.
Duo piece“NiwatoriI-Muco”was presented at the theater project in Paris(France) in 2010.

She have some solo-performances and wokshops granding on "SHINTAI-GOTO" in Japan and France in 2006-.
Photo book“SAKURA・KITAO”was published as observatiom for collaboration with SAKURA-trees and photographer(Kazumi HIROSE) in 2007-2009. DVD“ROJI-URA・KITAO”will be made as observatiom for collaboration with alleyway in Tokyo, Paris, Barcelona, and another city. to be continue.....
